Sikkens is the most expensive paint that comes on BMW, Mercedes and most fine European cars. Most shops consider it too expensive to use. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE YOUR CAR TO ANY BODY SHOP (IT’S THE LAW!) but insurance companies do not want you to know this. They would rather you use someone on their list because they have already negotiated a deal with them to do it for considerably less money.
Insurance companies will also try the scare tactic, “It won’t be warranteed if they’re not on the preferred list.” B.S. The body shop is the one that will be doing the warranty. Ask the shop if they own the property. If they do, they’re probably more stable and your warranty will be also. We’d rather keep our rates the same and pass on the savings to you, the customer (10% of the net price toward your deductible). We have been in the auto body business for over 20 years!
